HELLO AUTUMN

Hah little time to play with some stamps today. This card uses two stamps from the Holiday catalog, Happy Scenes and All Year Cheer.

Hello Autumn
The image was stamped on whisper white card stock with chocolate chip ink.  After it is allowed to dry for a few minutes the background was brayered using soft sky and pear pizzazz ink. The pumpkins and leaves were colored with markers, before layering behind window die cut.  Hello Autumn was stamped on soft sky and then layered on very vanilla card base.  the window and scene were then added to the front of the card.

Ok let me try and attach the link for the Holiday stamp sets.    I just love of the stamps in this catalog and hopefully will have some samples to post after the weekend.  Keep in mind stamping and paper crafting is just a hobby of mine.  It has become a bit more than that and I use it to keep my sanity.  The posting to a blog is too much like work for me somedays.  I spend more than 40 hours a week working in a busy medical office, and a large portion of my time at work now involves computers for charting, prescribing and reviewing labs.  Is it any wonder the blog was pushed to the wayside for so long.

Trial and Error

I had given up on trying to post to a blog, you can see the last post was years ago.  Several friends have encouraged me to start posting again so I am experimenting with how to link supply lists and Stampin'up specials.  I know many people have been doing this for years and think nothing of it.  What can I say, I am a slow starter.  so tonight I'll share the clearance rack link

Watercolor Crayon Class Final Card

I promise a couple days ago that I would post the last card from my watercolor crayon class and here it is.
This is one of my favorite stamp sets it is call Inspired by Nature by Stampin'Up. The stamp was colored with the following watercolor crayons: Gable green, glorious green, yoyo yellow, pixie pink and pink passions. The stamp is then very lightly misted with water the stamped on whisper white card stock. It is layered on pink passion and gable green card stock.

I had so much fun pulling out the water color crayons to prepare for this class, I can't wait for the new colors to be available. Have you ever noticed that you tend to get in a rut with your crafting? Maybe you tried something new and enjoyed it, and now you tend to use that technique, color combination, stamp set, card/scrap booking style or accessory/tool. I am going to try and challenge myself to use some of my older products several times during the month. Maybe I should add to that to use some of the items I purchased and have not used.

My next project for a monthly card swap is to be a wedding/ bridal shower/ anniversary card, I am still trying to decide what to do as I do not own much in the way of wedding, etc. type of stamps.. I am also working on a few cards to send my daughter at school. This is her first year away at college and I bought some non-Stampin'Up stamps that I thought she would like so that I can surprise her with something she has not seen before. I'll will post them as I get them done. I also have some other cards I have done for swaps during the past year, about the only stamping I was doing during the past year.

Watercolor Crayon Class

I taught a class in watercolor crayons last night. It was a small group but we had fun creating a background, water coloring the image as well as using the crayon directly on the stamp, misting it and stamping the image. Here are three of the cards the women made and I 'll post the forth one soon.

The first card used the watercolor crayons on watercolor paper to create the background. The supplies are all Stampin'Up, several colors are retired. The stamp set is Forest Friends.

They had a choice of doing the winter/Christmas card or the Halloween card both are made using the Greeting Card Kids. All supplies except blue ribbon and swirl embossing folder are from Stampin'Up.

I made the next card after class using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch that one of the women brought to class.
I'll post the last card soon.
